Chamber Announcements

The La Porte-Bayshore Chamber of Commerce has accepted the challenge to help raise funds to procure a Laser Shot Training Simulator for the La Porte Police Department.

The system provides over 900 training simulations to help responders develop skills in use of force and marksmanship training. We are excited that the system will be utilized by not just the LPPD but also Morgan’s Point and Shoreacres PD as well as our EMS, Fire Deptartment and Citizens Police Academy.

I know we’re quickly approaching the end of year and that this isn’t the most ideal time to be soliciting donations but we would like to give you an opportunity to be part of the project. Our hope is to be able to procure the Simulator and present it to LPPD by the end of October. As of today we are approximately $39,000 from the funding goal and we will gladly welcome any level of support you may be willing to offer.

We’re very thankful to our friends at OxyChem, MRC Global and Mitsubishi Chemical that have pledged their support to the project.  Any company that donates will have their name listed on a commemorative plaque to be hung at the police station.
