Private First Class Matthew K. Guyon Foundation

P.O. Box 1796
La Porte, TX 77572

The PFC Matthew K Guyon Foundation wants to be a catalyst for positive change in our community. In honor of their loved one, they aspire to give back to the organizations that Matthew cared about and volunteered with.

In 2022 the foundation leadership team realized that by working together they could give back to his home community and keep his memory alive. They ultimately decided to launch the Private First Class Matthew K Guyon Foundation.

A scholarship fund in his honor was also set up. The PFC Matthew K Guyon Scholarship Fund awards scholarships to college or trade school-bound high school seniors based on demonstrated community involvement, financial need, and expressed interest in helping others.

Pictured is the recently installed Gold Star Family Monument in La Porte. The Gold Star family is one that has experienced a loss of a loved one–an immediate family member who died as the result of military service. Those who have died on duty leave behind parents, siblings, spouses, and children. Those left behind are recognized as Gold Star families.
